A logo folder can contain several useful images without settling which one belongs in your WordPress site-icon setting. For a Las Vegas or Henderson business, start with an approved identity, then compare the supplied candidates with the particular job.
Keep the artwork decision settled
Ask the brand owner which symbol is approved for this small placement. A wide wordmark may belong in the page header, while a compact mark needs its own approval. Our logo-file handoff guide covers that earlier decision.
Do not silently crop out part of the business name or squeeze the wordmark into a different shape. If no suitable compact arrangement exists, give the designer a clear artwork question before asking the website editor to install anything.
Compare the two requirements
WordPress’s favicon guide calls for a square Site Icon source image at least 512 pixels wide and tall, with PNG recommended. That is the image prepared for WordPress.
Google’s organic-search favicon guidance requires a square of at least 8×8 pixels and recommends dimensions larger than 48×48. These are different requirements. Meeting the size rule does not guarantee display.
Choose among three fictional candidates
The Henderson framing shop, approved identity, files, dimensions and proposed decisions below are entirely fictional. No artwork has been created, measured, uploaded or inspected in a browser or search result.
Wide wordmark — 1280×320 PNG: Keep this candidate assigned to the header. Its rectangular proportions make it unsuitable as the prepared square source.
Compact symbol — 64×64 PNG: It is below WordPress’s source-image requirement. Ask the designer for the appropriate export rather than enlarging this small file and assuming its detail is preserved.
Compact symbol — 512×512 PNG: Propose this candidate for the WordPress handoff, assuming the fictional owner approves that arrangement. Dimensions alone do not establish its contents or appearance at a small size; those checks remain pending.
Separate implementation from search observation
Give the editor the selected source, its approval and the intended website. After an authorized save, request a record of the actual public icon resource and browser appearance. A dashboard selection is not that record.
For Google, the homepage declaration and crawler access also matter: Googlebot must reach the homepage and Googlebot-Image the icon. Record any later search appearance separately.
If the concern is the result’s wording, our different page-title guide addresses that question.
Discuss implementation within an agreed website design scope. Artwork changes and search review need agreed responsibilities. Email sales@rank.vegas with your website, approved artwork and the browser or search observation you want reviewed.
